Have you ever read The Great Gatsby?

I have to read it for english cl this summer, and we have to take notes. We have to either take 3 little notes on every page by underlining stuff and explaining it, or take notes chapter by chapter on notebook paper (Each with a topic and details) and then provide a summary of the chapter. If you've read The Great Gatsby, which do you think would be easier? Is it a hard book to understand? (Im going into 11th grade)
