What literary works from Edgar Allan POE are most directly related to his life?

I would strongly recommend "The Black Cat." The protagonist's intemperance reflect Poe's easily, the fact that he is haunted by the figure of the black cat reflect the proverbial ghosts which haunted Poe throughout his life. There are other works with significant parallels, but this would definitely be the most productive.
