I have a fungus in my yard that looks like a finger sticking up out of the ground.?

It is orange/red at the top, and bends just a little bit. It's about 4 inches long. The next day it wilts over. Flies are also attracted to it. I live in Illinois. I have never seen this before. Anyone heard of this?
